We are a stone’s throw from the Mighty Mississippi River, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home, and the Mark Twain Museum. The area offers a wide range of outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, boating, hiking, and cycling.

About our bed and breakfast
Small and made at home feeling
I (Michael Ginsberg) operate Main Street Bed & Breakfast with my wife, Pam. We relocated to Hannibal from Denver, CO, in 1988. In 2000, we remodeled the old F&M Bank building, creating retail space on the ground floor and three rooms for rent on the second floor. In 2008, we converted the retail space into our private residence. These projects were completed by River City Restoration (contractor for Lincoln’s Springfield, IL, home).
In 2025, we celebrated the 150th anniversary of our building’s construction. Our goal is to be good stewards of the property so that it stands for another 150 years. To that end, we have invested in preservation projects, including renovating the original windows, replacing the roof, and refurbishing the parapet. We care about our environment, and are proud to be solar-powered.
We love downtown living, and hope that our guests enjoy staying with us in Historic Downtown Hannibal. Our hosting style is informal, but we are readily available to help our guests and to offer flexible check-in and check-out times. As long-time residents of Hannibal, we are the perfect pair to point you in the direction of any attractions, restaurants, shops or other activities you may enjoy around town.
